The mechanic is responsible for the maintenance and recordkeeping of all equipment at UIGC. The mechanic also supervises and provides guidance and assistance to other staff members regarding the safe use and operation of equipment. On some limited occasions, the mechanic participates directly in management, maintenance, and improvement of the golf course and associated infrastructure.
The mechanic/maintenance technician is a full-time, fully-benefitted, hourly/overtime-eligible position. Wage is $27.00 / hr or higher, depending on experience and education. The golf season typically extends from April through early November, weather-dependent. During the season, course maintenance focuses primarily on the upkeep of the playing surfaces, while off-season priorities shift to improvement projects and when necessary, snow removal. As such, the mechanic spends most of their time during the season performing routine maintenance, repair, and upkeep tasks while the off-season is typically filled with annual services, overhauls, projects, and some limited participation in snow removal.
The typical work week for this position is 40 hours. Start times may vary throughout the year, based upon daylight and business requirements. The successful candidate will work approximately one weekend per month during the golf season (in rotation with other managers) and will be expected to work some overtime during occasional projects, a few golf tournaments each season, and aerification, which occurs twice per year.

Two years maintaining and repairing vehicles and equipment including:
Automotive and small engine diagnostics and repair
Mechanical systems

Membership in the Inland Empire Golf Course Superintendents Association (IEGCSA) and Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) or ability to obtain memberships within six months of hire
The University of Idaho, located in Moscow (Population 26,000), is the state's land-grant university. The Pullman-Moscow Reg...ional airport is approximately 10 minutes from Moscow and offers daily flights to Seattle, Portland, and Boise. A 30-minute drive south of Moscow is the Lewiston, ID / Clarkston, WA metropolitan area (Population ~63,000), which serves as the gateway to Hell's Canyon and some of the most spectacular wilderness in North America. The Lewiston airport provides direct service to Salt Lake City. The Spokane, WA / Coeur d'Alene, ID metroplex (Population ~750,000) is approximately a 90-minute drive north of Moscow and includes an international airport and most typical amenities associated with large urban areas.
